Connections

What's on this screen

Open User Settings and choose Connections to manage your personal GitHub, Data Platform, and Secret Store credentials. Each Domain credential row shows Data Platform, Secret Store, or both badges. After GitHub is connected and valid, the Demo Domain section lets eligible users create or reopen a sample-filled Domain.

A connected Identity Provider row identifies the downstream account Studio retains. Connections created before a readable account identity was recorded may show the provider's stable account identifier until you reconnect.

How to connect or reconnect GitHub

1. Open User Settings → Connections.
2. Choose Connect GitHub to authorize your account at GitHub.
3. When you return, the card shows your GitHub identity with Validate and Disconnect.

If Studio cannot use your saved GitHub connection, the card shows a warning pill labelled Reconnection required alongside Re-authenticate and Disconnect. Validate is absent in this state. Choose Re-authenticate and complete the GitHub authorization to connect again. The warning disappears when the connection is valid again.

This state can mean expired credentials, revoked access, or another unusable saved credential; it does not necessarily mean you revoked access at GitHub.

Choose Disconnect to remove the GitHub connection from Studio without re-authenticating. Confirm the browser prompt to finish. This removes only the Studio connection; it does not revoke your grant at GitHub.

How to connect a Domain requirement

1. Find the row under Needs you.
2. Check its Data Platform and Secret Store badges and affected Domain names.
3. Select Connect and complete the provider sign-in. Use Reconnect when an existing connection needs attention.

When one credential is reused by both requirements, Studio shows one row with both badges and lists each affected Domain once. Separate credentials appear as separate rows even when they belong to the same Domain. Local File and ambient identities do not create connection rows.

Select Validate to test a saved OAuth or PAT connection without replacing it. Successful validation refreshes its health. If the provider rejects the credential, Studio marks the connection as needing attention and displays the provider's safe error reason.

How to disconnect a shared credential

1. Select Disconnect on the connection row.
2. In Disconnect this credential?, review every affected Domain and the Requirements affected summary.
3. Select Confirm disconnect.

Disconnect removes the credential from Studio but keeps its Domain requirement mappings. Every affected requirement moves to Needs you so reconnecting the same authority can restore it. Disconnect does not change the external provider account, application, grant, or resource.

How to provision a demo Domain

1. Connect GitHub with Connect GitHub, or use Re-authenticate if Studio reports that the connection needs attention.
2. In Demo Domain, choose Provision a demo.
3. Leave the page open while Provisioning your demo Domain… is shown. You can also return to Connections later; Studio resumes displaying the active run.
4. When Your demo Domain is ready. appears, choose Open Domain.

For first-time Domain Owners, Studio continues onboarding inside the provisioned Domain. Open one of its restored Intents, then send your first message in that Intent. This Demo journey is tracked separately from the ordinary new-user setup tour, so an existing Domain membership does not hide it.

What you'll see

• GitHub is not ready — the Demo Domain action is hidden until the GitHub connection is active and valid.
• Loading — a placeholder is shown while Studio reads your provisioning state.
• In progress — Provisioning your demo Domain… is shown and the action is disabled.
• Success — Your demo Domain is ready. and Open Domain replace the provisioning offer.
• Failure — Studio shows a safe explanation and Try again when the attempt can be retried.
• Connected — the row's credential is available for its labelled requirements.
• Needs you — one or more labelled Domain requirements need Connect or Reconnect. A retained connection may still identify its account while it needs attention; a row with no linked account does not show an account identity.
